About Andoe Design

Andoe Design was formed in July of 1999 with the desire to provide high quality electrical engineering and design.

Ron Andoe, founder and principal designer, has over 15 years experience as an electrical engineer with particular expertise in the design of power supplies and machine control systems.

In January 2002 we took on the task of designing the most stable and reliable power source for today's and yesterdays tattoo machines. As a result, the BRICK-04 was introduced in July of 2002.

Some folks have asked how Ron got involved with tattoo machine power supplies...

How the BRICK got its start:

In January '02 a friend of mine who knew I was an electrical engineer asked me to fix a broken tattoo machine power supply. I hate it when people know what you do for a living. Hey dude, can you fix my vcr? -- no.

But this particular cat is a good friend, so I said I'd take a look at it. When I tore into it I thought "What a cheap piece of crap this thing is." It wasn't at all what should be used to drive a tattoo machine.

After I repaired it and gave it back, I told him I'd designed a couple of power supplies in the past that where specifically used to drive devices similar to a tattoo machine. He said, "Yeah, whatever."

A few weeks later I showed up at his shop with a prototype of the BRICK and asked him to give it a try. After a few days I went back thinking he wouldn't be impressed, give me back my prototype and tell me to hit the road.

Not the case.

He couldn't say enough positive things about it's performance, and offered me a wad of cash and some free ink if he could keep it.

Yeah, whatever.

That's how the BRICK tattoo machine power supply was born.

People have asked why we called it a "BRICK" since it's so light weight. "Hell, I dunno. Probably because it kinda looks like a brick and if you got hit up side the head with it -- you'd think brick."

Buy one, you'll be impressed!

Thanks,

Ron Andoe
